Thanks calidesign. The builder (via the design center) requires that our hardware selection is the same throughout the entire house. We could change the bathroom cabinet handles after the house is built to something other than ORB but that's an expense we don't want to incur.

Would black bronze handles instead of ORB coordinate better with polished chrome faucets and satin nickel door handles?

I wouldn't add more ORB to the bathroom to try to connect it with knobs/handles. Keep the other finishes light in the bath, and you can always change the handles out afterward if you don't like the look. Have you considered switching to nickel or chrome for all the handles? I'd choose what you like for the kitchen and main areas, and change out the other areas later if you feel you need to. It might look fine, and if not, it's an easy and inexpensive fix as long as you have standard sized handles or just a knob.

We like nickel but wanted to try something different as we have nickel in our current place (trying to expand our comfort zone.) :)

We initially picked out gunmetal for all the cabinet hardware (kitchen and bathroom) but then changed it to ORB after looking at a lot of kitchen and bathrooms online. But since our builder only allows one metal selection for all cabinet hardware, we're wondering if we should go back to gunmetal or maybe sticking to nickel cause they'll match better with the other metals in the house. lol i think we just want to avoid doing any updates after we just move into a brand new home (feels counterintuitive).

The gunmetal looks nice. I'd stick with that as your original choice. Maybe you'll get more opinions on the new post. You can use a darker finish for some of your light fixtures instead.
