The only minis I really have are "mice" types. I just wanted to compliment you on that pot. I LOVE it!!!!! The shape, color and the little frogs. Awesome!!!!

Great looking pot but I’m not sure those drainage holes are adequate.

The pot is adorable. I love the frogs. If you think the drainage holes are too small maybe some gravel in the bottom.

Chartreuse Wiggles, nice yellow,....love Pandora’s Box, Teeny Weeny Bikini, striped though it tends to revert, mine did. But one year it came up with a streaked eye so I separated it out. It’s holding it...... also love Tiny Treasure. Wish I had an area where I could plant numerous TT, like along the front of a bed. But, alas, no real estate available. :-(

There are 3 drainage holes in each section. I made a lot, since you never know if the glaze will run and accidentally close a hole. But it was fine, and none closed up. They are sloped, so no water pools in the bottom.

I made them the same size as my previous multi-hosta pot, as that one turned out to be perfect. They didn't dry too quickly, nor did they stay too wet.

Sherry, I had Surfer Girl planted in the ground. It’s one of the few
I’ve ever lost. I had it about 5 years. Its slowly declined, and last year was
no more.

But mine didn’t look anything like yours! It was plain green
and not wavy edged. Now I wonder if mine was mismarked.

I like that Wiggles and Squiggles. But at 9" tall, it looks too big for the planter. Would be a good candidate for in-ground use, though.

The Chartreuse Wiggles has a similar look but much smaller if you like the look.

I second Venusta. It's a great little hosta.

I think Cheatin' Heart is very cute too. And Little Wonder.

And Bill's Dress Blue is like BME but smaller.

Your list of mini hosta is great! I would recommend Fairy Dust. I love it! It has nice coloration and wavy leaves.

Here it is in early August with the yellow color holding up well.

I love Little Wonder too. It is a tough little hosta. But it can spread to a "small" size rather than mini sized.

Interestingly, I notice that gold wavy edged hostas all seem to have long leaves. If there is a rounder leaved wavy edged gold, I have not found one.

Whereas for blue minis, it's easy to find a rounded leaf wavy one. I wonder why that might be.

Ideally I was hoping to keep the leaf forms about the same, but that might not be possible.

Tiny Bubbles, Feather Boa, Coconut Custard. All yellows. its all about the texture.

Li'l Smooch, Faithful Heart, Lemon Kiss, Shiny Penny, Lemon Zinger - another pointy one, but stays small and love the variegation and character on it

linnea56: what minis did you end up putting in your planter?

I actually tried several and didn't really like the ones that I had planned, so it became quite a shuffle. I moved a division of Church Mouse in. This had outgrown a shallower planter I had made 4 years ago. I had bought School Mouse and Pandora's Box in clearance in fall 2019 for this planter. I did use the School Mouse, but the Pandora's Box was all wrong in terms of scale.

So I divided my old Cracker Crumbs, and put a section of that in. That's not right either, but I needed to fill the space til I find the right thing.

I want a gold: but SHORT leaved and wavy, which I have not found. I pulled a couple of leaves from other golds I already have to hold them up for scale, like Dragon Tails and Munchkin Fire, and those weren't right either.

That pot is fabulous, you should be proud of it. Love the color, too.

I don't have much luck with minis. They seem to just fade away. However, Munchkin Fire and Little Ralph have been good growers. LR is basically venusta, plain green but it has pretty flowers.

It can be hard, sometimes, trying to get the right plants to fit the design we have in our mind. Hope you'll fit the right mix, eventually.
