Are you going to show us the rest of the room?

So is the area you are showing us the space designated as the dining room?

If there's enough empty space around furniture, etc.... you could entertain thought about single items with impact: large-ish sculpture, etc... an ornately carved bench away from the dining set....

the batten wall area is the dining room, the rest is family room. I have to order all new furniture.

Glad that Beverly is 'on' cause you need a layout, need to know what areas are for?

Here's a bit similar with straight lines, accent table, and large candlesticks and wall items...

Patio doors' black and counters, etc.. remind me of this, maybe with a color in a couple chairs.... is that area to be a family room?

here's my floorplan

these are 2 sofa's I've considered.

You can't select a sofa without thinking about the chair that might go with it. That white sofa's arms IMO are too wide and too stylized to complement your dining room set.

I didn't search online for these images, just pulled them from my library of sofas to illustrate it might be nice to select a sofa and chairs that had similar curves to the ones of your dining room table and chairs.

Thank you Beverly, I'm open for suggestions, I actually like the blue sofa better, I'm just not sure how comfortable it will be.

I don't think I could purchase a sofa without sitting on it. Check Macy's & Living Spaces if you are close to one.

I dont have the timento wait on my local furniture stores which are now taking 12 - 16 weeks, so I'm going with Wayfair for in stock items that give me a delivery daye of one week. Anyone have any luck with sofa's from Wayfair.

I want to do 2 sofa's and 2 chairs

what about this

Family Room is 20 x 18'4

Dining room 11'4 x 14'4

Beverly thank you so much! I have been sick and believe it or not my house is still not decorated. I did buy 2 sofa's in navy blue and 2 cream chairs

Hope you're feeling better. I'll post what seems nice idea with some neutrals. I've seen as a rug also.
