8 feet wide is large enough to have cabinets on both sides of the room. Why only cabinets on one side?

I've had a raised dog wash area in my current house - made it too tall. New house is getting a commercial grooming tub with a door and ramp.

I would paint the wall white and have grey hardwood or floor tile. Not sure what your countertops / cabinet color is but natural wood tones would look fabulous in this room.

I would do simple white quartz countertops. For dog wash shower, you need something nonslip. I would either just do a shower pan or a small white hex or penny floor tile. Something durable and easily cleaned with bleach if need be.

@Mark Bischak, Architect - we plan to use the other side for drying racks, ironing board, etc.

@just_janni - the dog wash will be on the ground in that empty space next to the right of the laundry sink

@User - thank you for the suggestion. i was also considering white quartz but I didn't know if its a very stark contrast against the neutral cabinet color and bold tile color.. i like the sample image you gave, but it makes me wonder if I need to go with white for the cabinets to make it all work together.

Yup.

I don't understand those dog wash areas, unless you have a dog that is 20 lbs or less.

My large dogs always shake off during a bath and the water and hair go everywhere. I either take them to a groomer, bathe them in a fully enclosed shower in the house, use the hose outside or take them to a self service dog wash place where they can make a mess out of someone else's space!

@J D I saw some beautiful inspiration pics with a natural wood rather than painted cabinets.. I really ove that green tile.
