Interesting suggestion! the leaves are similar, But not as bumpy mid veins it seems. And the pics of plain green show darker/red main stem.

are the leaves rough dry Sandpapery to touch? On mine everything Is hairy: main stem, leaves underside etc. also my leaf margins are smooth.

Definitely not kudzu. I am looking at various Actinidia but the texture of leaf is different (polygama is the closest).

mine closely resembles Boehmeria nivea (it’s leaves are not alternate and it’s not a vine in any case).

Can you tear a leaf and see if it has milky sap?

not it cannot: leaves are very different, not hairy and bipinnate, not alternate.

when u google and use 'sandpapery leaves' - it's the first thing that comes up (Petrea).

perhaps adding post to tropical plants forum will help?..although I am not sure if this is a tropical vine.. but most likely.

The leaves are alternate in arrangement. No question.

of course they are :). it's plain from my pics. it's Boehmeria nivea that has bipinnate leaves, but my 'corrugated' and sandpapery leaves are very similar to it. i am just mentioning some stuff that i looked at already to may be clarify and/or eliminate some candidates.

Comfrey leaves are similar in texture, but much longer. looked at borage family too , kinda similar. but no vines in either.

not a Paederia (skunk vine).

So no more ideas? I am still not convinced that it is Actinidia. Anybody knows if actinidia(kiwi) leaves are rough to touch?

and I can report that there is no sap when the leaf/ stem is cut.

I'm asking around, but I'm still stumped myself. Google lens keeps suggesting trees with similar leaves, but no vines. This vine has to flower eventually. A flower will help.

here's the description i found:

leaves that are rough to the touch with stiff plant hairs. The flowers are small, white, sweetly scented borne on scorpioid (i.e. scorpion-shaped) racemes covered with a mat of short, white hairs. The fruits are round fleshy berries or drupes, white when ripe with a sweetish taste resembling grapes.

yes, flowers would help, but it'll have to wait, as it is becoming hot to fainting and gardens will have to wait for now, at least in Miami :).

floral: i have noticed that leaves resemble Borage...but found no vines. out of curisity, how were you able to ID it? i was quite stumped ...but normally i manage to locate by 'similar image searches'. not this time!

I looked thru borage family pics but couldn’t find any vines. and of course I googled FL vines and found sev good natives sites .. but nothing there. But I never used botanical name Boraginaceae in search ...gotta get more scientific!
