Wiring new wifi thermostat

So, I labeled all the wires as instructed and put the wires into the new thermostat and connected the display. Immediately the furnace kicked on and kept running. Just air, no a/c. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone take a look at the pics and tell me the correct slots for the wires on the new thermostat? The Pic with wires is the original thermostat. The other Pic is the new one.

This is just the thermostat end of the wires. You should identify the other end and see which wire goes where. Colors may not be standard.

Thanks, I looked in the furnace and the thermostat wire is hooked into a mess of other wires. I have no idea where they're going. Probably best to have an hvac specialist come out. Damn, I thought this would be easy...

Do you have a gas furnace and AC? When you say furnace comes on, are you saying the blower is running, but the outdoor condenser is not?

Where did you connect the wire which was originally connected to Y/Y2? Did you set up the thermostat properly?

I have a 22 year old electric ac / heat pump and furnace.

The blower is running but not outside.

I put Y/Y2 into Y.

I set up the thermostat according to the instructions, so hopefully that was correct 😅
