I saw the first bloom on Stella de Oro yesterday (at a local restaurant).

Thank you for looking and commenting. Maryl, you are right. I am about a week later than usual, probably due to the late freeze, but there are scapes at bloom height all over the garden and several of them could have been first instead of Texas Carnival Dance. Julia, I have had Texas Carnival Dance for about six years. Good Nancy. Maybe all seasons will start closer to mine this year. And later today, I will indeed post a photo of Fernstone because the two blooms I thought might open today did open. At least a half dozen early bloomers are getting ready so lots of blooms are in the near future.

What a surprise that Fernstone wasn't first! The first bloom on Texas Carnival Dance is looking good. I have some new acquisitions with scapes, and the two that were first here last year - Kiss of Paradise and Victorian Garden Heaven's Applause look like they will be first again of my in-ground plants. About seven seedlings - most out of Dearest Valentine - are showing scapes now.
