Fernstone looks so good. It usee to do well here, but started losing fans. I moved it last fall, only 2 fans now. It does have a scape, I hope it improves in it's new spot, but I may have put it too close to a clematis where it won't get enough sun. I always love Patricia Snyder Mem blooms. I have seen bluebirds in my yard, but not this year. I do have 2 pairs of cardinals that have been entertaining me.

Fernstone is looking good in your garden. I used to love Patricia Snyder Memorial here - before the grubs ate it to death. I bought a replacement, but the grubs got that one too. Do you think yours is short this year because of the late freeze or because something is getting to the roots?

I love seeing your bluebirds. I don't think I've ever seen one here. This Spring we have mostly cardinals and mockingbirds. We used to get lots of robins, but haven't seen even one this year.

Thank you, Debra. Patricia Snider Memorial has always been on the short side here, possibly due to her location but it is prime territory and full sun so I doubt it. It shouldn't be long before we are in full bloom but a lot of rain is in the forecast again so it may interfere a bit. It is cool and nice for a very few days so I hope to get some work done in the wedding. we will see how it works out.

Wow and I don't even have a scape yet. Belle Isle Sentry should scape in a week or so.

It's nice to see that first bloom on Fernstone. Is it earlier than normal for Patricia Snider Memorial to bloom? If it is, maybe that scape is a leftover one from last season. In our experience, they always bloom short.

I'll have to keep my eye out for bluebirds here. We have a lot of cardinals--love their song. We also have some bird that nests on the ground among the seedlings. I'm not sure what it is.

Dumortieri and H. minor might be in bloom in about a week or so. The scapes are growing fast. We haven't seen scapes on anything else, but it's still early here.

I used to see a bluebird occasionally, but in the neighborhood but never in our yard until I put up a bluebird house, they found it and have had so many babies since that time. It mockingbirds and sparrow occasionally give them trouble, but they are very steadfast little bird parents and both of them feed the babies. I suppose that could be the case but PSM hasn't been a big grower ever here. Brad, if you remember the season here is normally a very long one so it starts early and lasts long. It is about a week late this year though.

Fernstone is looking good for first bloom. I had two Remembering Grace ready to fully open tomorrow and we just had a short severe storm blow through so I am sure blooms got battered.

I love your bluebirds! Many years ago someone organized a “bluebird trail” in North Mississippi-thousands of bluebird houses dotted the countryside and bluebirds found them! We still have one of those houses at the edge of our property.

The show is about to begin in the gardens!!

It’s great to see your blooming has begun, Fernstone looks great! It will be awhile here, my iris are sending up scapes now. We see cardinals here every day, sparrows and robins are always in abundance. Later in the season the goldfinch and hummers will show.

Thank you, Kate. Bluebird houses are such a benefit to bluebirds. If you have a house, they will usually find it and they are so pretty to watch.

Sherry It is kind of like Christmas when blooming begins and each new one is so much fun to see.
