I enjoy looking at other people's non daylily plants. I like Iris alright, but they bloom during my busy time so seldom see anything other then a blur of blue/purple in other people's yards. But that Apricot one of yours is a real stunner. The orange beard on the falls just add an extra dose of "zowie"!...........The rose is pretty too. Is it fragrant?..........I just added a white Gaura back into my garden after several years absence. It's flowering already here too..........It seems as if you aren't far behind Kay in having daylily blooms. Starting Sunday here, it's rain and cool weather for most of the week, so until it warms up a bit, I'll just have to bide my time on my daylilies having blooms..........Maryl

Kate: Glad to see your season start. but also all the other plantings as well. We are in for a cool and rainy weekend into early next week. I'm itching to get the front bed done but not this week with this weather.

Hooray, your season has started! I do love the looks of that rose, and all your other pink flowers. Where did you get the Gaura? Most of the ones I see in catalogs are white.

Julia, what fun you are going to have with your clean slate! There are many beds I think I would have created differently but are too well established to change now.

Maryl, the rose is very fragrant and with those big blooms makes for a very scented area!

Debra, I have several of the gaura and try to add more each year. This foliage is green with deep maroon colors so the foliage is pretty too! I am almost sure all came from a large chain store that starts with “W”!!!

Funny, I have never seen the white even in nurseries but would love to have one of those as well.

This week I went to a huge nursery-acres of plants-at least 20 greenhouses of plants In addition to the shrub and tree yards. I almost hyperventilated in my excitement!!! ( Wore my mask but other shoppers were so considerate in distancing.) They had no gaura at all-sold out! However, to make up for my disappointment I filled my wagon with other perennials and Penta which I also adore!!

Most daffodils , crocus and narcissus are done with the exception of the Poet's Narcissus which will start to bloom this week sometime . Alliums will start this week too. Can't wait .

Heather, how pretty!! You do have color in your garden! I love the primrose-cannot ever get them to grow for me even when petted in a pot! I like the colors on your mini iris. It does come in stages doesn’t it? I try to enjoy them all!!

Heather, I used to have that type of bluebells, I always really liked them. Cut out part of that bed and moved them, I guess they did not like their new spot. Need to replace them. The primrose never lasted for me either, I am told it is too humid here. Still getting frosts? Guess I should bot be surprised really. Here no frosts, but some nights temps in low 40s. But I have scapes on 8 plants. 2 are plants I just got. I need to look up my notes, seems like a couple are showing earlier than normal scapes.
