Closet Laundry room help!

I currently have a 2nd floor laundry closet with a stackable W/D. I want to convert it to a side by side. The closet is 60” wide. I know that is wide enough. However the current door opening (double doors) is only 48” wide. Is this wide enough for access to side by side W/D? I can’t find any information on closet door width clearance. I am ok with the W/D doors only opening 90 degrees but I’m concerned that a 48” door opening will not be wide enough for the doors to open. My W/Ds measure 27” wide. Does anyone know the door dimensions needed a side/side W/D?

You would need at least 55” I’d think. And that’s without the doors. I tried to do something similar and had to give it up because I didn’t have the space for the w/d I was planning to buy. I’d go to an appliance store with a tape measure and open the doors on some side by side units to be sure.
