When to prune newly established Plumeria?

I have some single stalks that are getting quite tall. I'm in Florida, Zone 9B. I'd like them to branch out, but have only been in the ground for a year and some still in pots. I won't chop any that have inflows, but some are starting to leaf as it is now May. Should I cut them now or wait until fall?

How tall are they? Personally, I'd let them grow this season because they ought to bloom and branch out naturally. If you prune them now, you may get a 2 or 3 new branches but you'll be starting all over again- those new branches won't bloom until next year at the soonest. Good luck!

Many thanks irun5k! The largest one is about 3 and a 1/2 feet in the ground. I think this one went in the ground this past year. So, it may not produce flowers yet. I do have a few others grown from seed, I am proud to say and may see my first bloom soon on one of them. So, I should expect branching from the inflow after it blooms? That would be great.
