Varmint proof oriole feeding

So we now have two male orioles "feeding" on our hummingbird feeder. I don't mind, but sooner or later the hummingbirds are going to want in. I'm wondering if there is a way to put out some jelly and orange slices that isn't going to attract all kinds of varmints to our yard and they will for sure vandalize something lightweight. We have raccoons, skunks, opossum, groundhogs, and squirrels, not to mention chipmunks. Also starlings. I'm not trying to eradicate all mammals from my vicinity, but I'd like to keep their numbers in check! Just setting out a dish and an orange slice isn't going to cut it, I've already had those dragged around the garden overnight. Anyone have an ingenious oriole feeder that works for them?

A few weeks back, I recalled a DIY Oriole Feeder project from many weeks ago. I used baling wire and a Deli cup to make an Oriole feeder. The first step is to drill some small holes at the bottom of the deli cup. Then, I made a circle with wire that is just the right size to carry the deli cup. It is recommended to use pliers to secure and tighten. The next step is to bend the baling wire end to hang the deli cup onto the Poole feeder. Finally, I put their favorite food in that homemade feeder, which is jelly. As expected, the orioles proved to be very fond of them.

We had one of these at our last house.

Feeder

We had a clothes line strung from our deck to a tree. This kept it out of the reach of most pests. Squirrels were still a problem. They could navigate the clothes line. We put some tin foil at one end which stopped them for a while.

I'm thinking I could possibly stuff some fruit slices in my suet feeder, it has proved relatively varmint proof, but the grape jelly . . . possibly just a second hummingbird feeder, but maybe one I can jimmy-rig the feeding ports on . . . .

I use the suet cages for oranges and they work great.

I use this for the jelly, just screw a full jelly jar on to it and hang it from a shepherds crook.

No critters can get to it ( and we have all the ones you listed ) except wasps later in the season and I have never ever seen starlings feed from it.

I also use something similar to the one Czarinalex posted for fresh oranges and never have any issues.

We had that issue of disappearing feeders overnight, so we used to bring the feeders in at dusk and put them out again in the a.m.

We have never had issues with our feeders. They are hung under our eves.
