jjkOC, how exciting!!! Your pics are beautiful! I especially like the ones of Belinda's Dream...I have often hesitated over her, debating whether to add to my cart....I don't have much space dedicated to modern HT/shrub roses so I've been very choosy about which ones to include, and while I'm attracted to the idea of having another Basye in my collection, I balance that against the less-powerful fragrance BD offers... I have a space specifically allocated for a light pink modern rose, and (after years and years) it's still blank because I can't decide which one to put there! This spring I had decided to just go ahead and get Tiffany and have been waiting to find her somewhere, she's such a great rose although not terribly exotic. But now maybe I'll think about BD instead, your pics are very compelling....sigh, this is why that space is still open after all these years.

Slumgullion, I totally understand...I have been trialing roses in pots for the last 5 years moving them around the yard to learn what microclimate they like, I have an area in the back patio that I have drawn and redrawn plans in my gardening sketchbook on what to plant. But I think this pandemic has encouraged me to bite the bullet and put things in the ground because life is too short to wait to experience an unexpected beauty.

It is true, Belinda’s Dream is not perfumed like other varieties but it is a vigorous and buxom beauty. I was concerned after planting it in its spot that it was not blooming well like it did in the pot, but now that it’s been 3 years, the blooms are a commanding presence in that corner of the yard!

Thanks Lilyfinch! I really like Clematis Mikelite’s color, I often wish I had an evening gown in that gorgeous violet color!

Thank you for the ideas about reaching out to the local iris society. There is a neighbor nearby who has irises that look like Grandma’s Purple Flag, but I really don’t know because I haven’t grown irises before.

I plan to leave a note on the neighbor‘s door introducing myself and my request. Hopefully that goes well :)

Slumgullion, do you have 'Felicia'? The plant and flower are okay--I say this as someone who never grew it well; it could be much prettier--but the scent is, to my nose, superb.

Melissa, I do have Felicia, thanks! She's still rather young so hasn't grown into her full glory in terms of size, blooms, etc. (She's in part shade so taking longer than some others to get going.) So far this year it looks like she'll have a half-dozen blooms in the next few weeks. I will make it a point to smell them!

Slumgullion, I also have a young Felicia; it’s in a 15 gal pot right now and I plan to put it in a new mixed bed next season. It will be good to see how these two roses compliment one another in the garden...

Felicia was my 1st bloom here a few days ago and I'm still smelling her intoxicating flowers inside. What a lovely rose! I have mine growing on a metal fence and she Seems to like it there.

@roseseek Kim, it seems like iris Crimson King looks the same as Grandma’s Purple Flag (GPF), aka Frequent Violet. Does Crimson King have a sweet fragrance? This is a noteworthy feature of GPF in addition to reliable rebloom.
