if they labeled all the rest of the plants.. odds are.. they have garden maps and do have a name for it ... did you try asking them??? ..whats the point of being a demonstration garden if you cant demonstrate you know what plants you have there ... eh???

Thanks, with covid shutdowns there was no staff available. Will try the master gardeners, although if anyone knows what it is, I'm pretty sure they'd label it.

Thank you fig...it does look like that could be it; especially with the reference to the intense fragrance, which this does have. It's an old homestead and some of the plants are likely from the original farmhouse area and this one looks like an old fashioned variety.

Olychick, if you think it's an older variety due to its location, it's might not be 'Beauty of Moscow' (although it looks just like mine, lol). It's not impossible that it would be on an older home site, but it's a fairly modern hybrid from 1943. It might be one of Father Fiala's hybrids (some of those also date back to the 1940's), but it's likely to be one of the old French varieties, though I can't think of one with blush flowers.

Yes, I did see that date and realized it wouldn't have been original to the homestead. I'm thinking since it is so heavily scented that it was placed in the fragrance garden for that attribute. I sent the info to my friend and she agrees that we think you nailed it! Thank you!
