Nope. You’re not finding a sink anywhere that would fit in a 12” deep cabinets.

A “base cabinet” is 24” deep. That is minimum size you need unless you bump out base and add more space at wall side. Sinks need space and you need room for easy use and position of faucet too. Handles have to have room to turn on and off too.

We don’t want to deal with matching the paint which is going to be difficult to replicate. I am asking if a carpenter can build out the cabinet. I know a sink can’t fit as is.

Forget this idea.

A good carpenter could build a box and use front of cabinet if you can remove that carefully and in essence “reface” your base cabinet.

Thanks. Was thinking even more simply to take another 12” cabinet and attach together in the back of the one I have and cut out back of the original cabinet.

That might work, but it would take up extra space probably and make getting a sink in harder I think. Are you doing this yourself?

No not likely myself. Carpenter or woodworker. New sink cabinet from the manufacturer to match is like $2000 and I tend to believe (despite naysayers above) that it can be McGyvered to work for a lot less. So long as it’s ok not to have the front drawer on top of the doors.

You will need something above and a toe kick space below. So just depends on what you have in that space now. Are you replacing sink and faucet and countertops? Lots of issues to consider.

No we are repurposing an entire kitchen. Nothing is installed. Wanted to add a second sink and had this wall unit leftover.

Yes you can use the cabinet face, and perfectly normal to not have a fake drawer on a sink- I rarely include them in my kitchens. That said, it will be far quicker to build a whole new box than try to save the existing wall box. And you won’t have a weird seam inside the cabinet.
