I have to make a decision tonight what to do about this. I’m not happy with the grids that are visible but not sure if grout will make it look better or worse

I see you are looking for a response tonight. It‘s a good thing you noticed this now and are willing to take action. I am not a pro but I will tell you that if you aren’t happy now, you won’t be happy later. Cut your losses. Don’t throw good money after bad. Rip it out. Then do a search on this site for penny tiles or penny rounds and see how many unhappy people are out there as a result of a poor installation. Either get an expert in or change to a more forgiving material. And no. From what I’ve seen on this site, grout will not cover the sins of a bad install. Sorry if I sound harsh. Thanks for the candid advice. I’m just trying to see if grout will make it look better. I can be overly critical of tile layout when others don’t notice so just want to be sure I’m not being extra. My husband and aunt didn’t see what i see but I notice everything

Not a pro, but it doesn’t look right. My impression of penny tile is that it’s often difficult to install correctly- there are so many posts on this site detailing problems with install, as mentioned above, I would not choose to use it. I also wonder if the choice of contrasting stripes makes it even more difficult to achieve a satisfactory look.

He did such a good job with the niche. I had faith in him with the flooring

FWIW The penny looks bad. No grout is going to make this right. To be clear, the tile is SALVAGEABLE if you remove it before it gets grouted. Once you set the grout you will lose the ability to remove the tile without damaging it. That's why you are being told to stop and remove it. You will throw more money down the drain if you allow it to get grout.

Thinset. I just tried lifting it. Impossible. It is hard set.

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions on floor tile I should use instead. We already have the niche in the white penny so maybe I have to do white and something that requires less skill. Ugh remodeling is not always fun
