Can you call an electrician and get some recessed lighting installed? Might brighten the room a bit. Also, to answer your question, unfortunately, no. I mean, do what you want - if you like it sure! But it looks like a modern type fixture with a very traditional type decor.

First ask do you LOVE the light over the table, which appears to hang too high? Second........ a recessed would eliminate having to select, and really NOT call attention to the ceiling.

Show the entire kitchen space as well.

If it were me I would paint the rim of the existing fixture matte white or black and leave it like that until I had the time and money to smooth out the ceiling.

I agree - you don't want to call attention to the ceiling. So, I'd switch it out for a can light instead. On the other hand, if you love it, I don't think it would look too bad. Cute area!

If you don't want to do the necessary work to remove the electrical box to which the "boob light" is attached to install recessed lighting, you could replace that light with a slim surface-mount light (example: Halo SMD) which would attach directly to the electrical box, be discrete, and illuminate the area without shining on the rough ceiling.
