Any photos of your current setup?

Yeah, Houzz can be super finicky in that way. You can also try and post them in the comments. Just add the photo and wait for it to no longer be "greyed out" then hit submit, otherwise, the images won't post.

Maybe it's because I'm using a Mac? I'll try on my phone instead.

I don't think the chairs are too chunky for the table. The color fades against the rug, though.

Would you consider a different rug?

I'd like more information on the rest of the room. Black is a consideration, but would want to know what the rest of the space looks like.....don't want imbalance.

The style of the chairs isn't bad. I think the color is lacking a bit. If your current chairs were black, I think the whole setup would look more dynamic.

Aargh, I'm still trying to post pics of the rest of the space; the furniture is black metal, medium toned wood, and brass. The rug is Chilewich woven vinyl, very good for food spills, so I would like to keep it if possible. I like those Comet chairs, if they had a white base to match the table, also thinking about Thonet armchairs.

You can get the comet chairs with a white base. They are custom ordered.

I think I have solved the problem temporarily by recovering the seats in a darker grey, looks much better. Thanks for the help, everyone!
