Tree advice - narrow and preferably evergreen

last modified: 5 years ago

We just removed a twinned Norway maple (probably 50-60ft tall) from the back of our property, leaving things looking pretty naked. We'd like to replace it with something dense and evergreen to eliminate leaf cleanup and provide more privacy at eye level, but the area is pretty narrow (about 10' of width) - it's sort of wedged between our parking area (blacktop) and the property line (in fact, the Norway maple had grown through the fence). Any suggestions for a fast-growing evergreen that doesn't get to be much more than 10' in diameter at the base? No limitations on height - taller is better, in fact. We saw some gorgeous Leyland cypress at the nursery the other day but they are just way too wide for this spot. Thanks in advance!

ETA: Location is more or less full sun.
