I only use semi-gloss on the doors. I prefer a satin finish for trim and I think it would look good on the shiplap.

I love semi gloss trim! I just don’t know if it will be too much for the shiplap. Would eggshell in Extra White look better? Or maybe a different color?

IMO the shiplap ship has sailed why not just a nice drywall wall behind builtins.

Satin on shiplap is most sheen to use. Shinier cheapens the look.

Painting in an accent color can really make it pop! I've seen several examples of painted shiplap and they look great- especially if you like shiplap! You may try painting some foam core and sit it in the built-in to see if you like it. I would do a satin as well. less sheen. I think I'm going to add shiplap to a wall in my basement with built-ins. But then I'm trying to strategically add it to a few other spots in my home so it's not a one-off design element. good luck!

Basement shiplap is done & I'm happy wit it. I wen with Alabaster in Eggshell. The walls are Worldly Gray. TV is now mounted & it's a perfect space the family & my growing kids.
