I Feel your pain. We went through 3 door colors and love the third try. It took us 4 years total to replace roof, all the trim (gutters, downspouts, soffit, etc.) and repaint garage doors. We love the pink now and SO glad we decided not to paint the brick. We used GAF Shingles in Pewter Gray. Very happy.

The pewter grey does look nice. Itlooks different than the little sample, which is what I was afraid of with the other colors. We were thinking of going with bark wood or hickory. The contractor wanted to go with charcoal. I found the info below, suggesting brown roof, but we aren’t going with the wood look shingles. We ended up with a sort of light burgundy door..I like it, but it was horrible picking it out! It‘s strange because a lot of pictures I take don’t really show the pinkish color in the bricks that is in the sample below. Our mortar is a dark grey though.

See if the roofer can give you addresses of houses with the color of tiles your contemplating. That’s how we ended up with the pewter. It lets you see the singles in mass and natural light. People suggested a gray that was so dark it might as well of been black. That was not what we were after. Plus increased A/C bills in summer with black roof in a hot area of the country. Our mortar is lighter than yours is. Most pink (salmon, rose, etc) houses look like civil war houses, that I could find. But then I stumbled on some mid century ones that gave me better ideas. Just don’t let anyone push you into something you really don’t want. It’s a big dollar item.
