Appear's normal,have you watched valves while in operation to see where water is coming from?

Apparently the valves are lower than the pipes so it's the backflow after the sprinklers shut off. Not sure these are the correct terms but this is what my landscaper said.

There shouldn't be any water coming from the pipes or the valves. You likely have a leak somewhere and what klem1 is suggesting is see where the water is coming from when the valves are turned on.
