I was thinking about putting it in a pot on its own but I’m pretty sure if I actually try to grow it, it will die.

Casuarina glauca in its prostrate form. The plant is commonly sold as 'Cousin It' or 'Shag Pile'.

I don't think so. The stems of the OP’s plant are neither succulent nor jointed. Nor are they cylindrical. They have indented grooves along the length.

I agree it def is Psilotum nudum. When I first saw your answer floral_uk I had never heard of this plant so I looked it up and thats exactly what it is. What a cute little whispy plant🙂. I can see why this could be confused as a Rhipsalis, that’s what I first thought, but if you look closely this plant is missing areoles.

I feel it is Psilotum nudum, from looking at pictures on line. Funny how so many unrelated plants can look so similar.
