You make sure there is a squeegee and microfiber towel in each shower/tub and that a quick wipe down occurs after every shower.

I use Wet & Forget for showers once a week. I usually squeegee the rest of the time.

Clean the soap scum off, coat the glass with rainex for showers, and squeegee after every shower. Soap scum is the result of hard water. If you have a well I would look into a softening system.

When we were putting in our glass shower the contractor told us glass is porous and will fill up with soap and hard water scale. We don't have hard water but we did coat it before we ever used it and have always removed the water after every shower.

@User liquid soap is not natural. I make soap and we have never used anything else in the shower except 100% natural ingredient bar soap. We just squeegee and have crystal clear glass.

@User, I use bar soap, Dove unscented (recommended by my dermatologist), DH uses natural bar soap from Trader Joe’s. Both good for skin health, and leave no soap scum. Even on days when I neglect to wipe down the shower doors, there‘s no evidence of soap residue…not even on the tiled walls.

The issue is not so much liquid or bar soap, it’s how hard the water is; hard water minerals combine with the soap to form the scum. Furthermore, many liquid soaps also leave soap scum and are not an improvement in that regard over bar soap - it depends on the formulation. People tend to use greater quantities of liquid soap to wash themselves than if they’d used bar soap. Since most liquid soaps are chemical detergents, one has to decide if that is what one wants to use to wash in order to potentially—but not necessarily—save some soap scum from forming. The better solution regardless of which soap you end up using is to get in the habit of using a squeegee after showering.

Use a vinegar and water solution in a spray bottle and wipe down with a sponge ( I keep one always just outside the shower) and rinse just before you leave shower.

I am a clean “nut” and I swear by Clorox disinfecting bleach free cleaner; it powers through soap scum. I put some on husband’s hand held shower head and he remarked how the shower head works like it was new; it unclogged the shower head sprays. Works great on our fiberglass bathtub and surround. As with all cleaning products, for the last step, I always rinse the area well with water.

Before using vinegar (acidic) or any other cleaners please make sure they are safe for the tiled surfaces of your shower. Certain tiles should not have acidic cleaners used. They may require a more neutral PH.
