Mine are doing well. A few hiccups with a big snowstorm a few months back, a few trees really didn't like the cold, but they're all bouncing back well!

Here's a few of mine.

My seed grown rangpur, spent a bit of time in a soggy plastic pot (finally got it into clay), and really didn't like the cold this winter, but it has a ton of new growth since being repotted and is bouncing back well.

For fun, this is my unknown green fig that I'm working on making into a bonsai. Has a little decline from being horribly potbound, as I haven't had time to deal with it recently, but it's been a fun tree to work with.

I water my trees when they get dry, and grow them all elevated over a drip tray where I water them and then let the water evaporate. (The bottom of the pot never touches the water level). I also only use terracotta as plastic stays too wet in my area. All my trees grow 100% indoors.

Bonsai, I see you have a kaffir lime and what fun that can be keeping a fig Bonsai style. I have thought of doing that myself and bringing a small tree to fruit a lot. I am almost there. Nice work I am doing ok, just tired these days. Not enough sunlight to bask in and it is getting to me. get over 7 months of these cloudy raw days and just a few nice sunny days from there.

Can't wait for the warmth to stick around so I can see lots of growth. I love good threads too so I hope many come by to share their prized trees and other things)

I presently have 3 trees.

I pruned heavily my ponderosa that took a full year to recover from defoliation. its leafing out from everywhere, pretty exited as the fiance wanted to throw it away. It looked terrible.

Next is a calamondin and navel orange, both losing a bit of colour at the tips, I think that its taking nutrients from the leaves to push new growth.

I recently got a house so I bought a few other trees this year. First is a potted chicago hardy fig, next is a honeycrisp apple, 2 somerset grape vines and a combo stonefruit tree with (peach,nectarine,plum,apricot,cherry).

Also made myself a nice 20x20 garden

It’s not June yet. lol sorry couldn’t help myself Mike.

My 3 trees, seems like the valencia is pushing out new growth after all, full of it.

Kevin, I wish I had seen your post before I responded the first time. For some reason it did not show up. Weird! Did you plant that fig in the ground? Nice and that tree, is it a plum or peach tree? Don't you just love all the new growth coming on that citrus tree? Amazing there. You have to love it. Thank God for it. Beautiful trees)

Jan, too funny. You are right! It's been to darn lousy out to even take pics since I started this thread. The sun is not out today either. 6 days of no sun. I took this coming Monday off so I could go to the beach when it hits 90 for a change. Need to start on my tan. Don't like my legs white with shorts on.lol

Evan, it is June now..lol You better show some of those trees and a possible sky too. Lol Guess I was anxious for May to finish.

Steve, i see the lights really work. Lots of new growth and very happy trees. Nice.) Those flowers look like they are about to open. Still can not believe you grafted that.

Love seeing everyone's trees! I'm especially impressed with those doing their own grafting or growing from seed. I'm not nearly talented nor patient enough for either of those.

The first is my grapefruit tree which was the subject of much discussion in another thread.

The second is my Meyer lemon that is working on its first harvest of 7 lemons. I bought both trees in the spring one year ago. They have had their share of ups and downs as I've learned how to properly water them. They both have lots of bald patches because of that.

Mike, I decided to take out the fig from the ground and put it into a 10g pot after much considering. I believe I could replicate zone 7 for it and keep the branches alive by mulching heavily and covering with a ton of snow (we get ALOT of snow here) but for the first year at least I'll keep it potted.

I was super exited by having a stone fruit tree and thought my tree was doing great. It had funky looking leaves on the nectarine and peach graft, I thought it was because of the frosts. I posted on a forum and turns out its heavily affected by peach leaf curl. I'll have to return it sadly. Too bad because it was also grafted with apricots, cherries (self fertile) and plums. All of which are doing fantastic

Mike, so far so good. Keeping a fig bonsai has been somewhat fun. This one came all crooked and twisted the way it is, so it has a nice trunk for working with. I will say that the rapid root growth tends to make them a little more difficult. This one has needed a root prune since last fall, as the pot is just a giant clump of tangled roots. I'm actually surprised that it has had the growth that it does. Just a little nervous about trying to take it out of the pot this time. Last time I almost had to break it, and I like the pot and haven't found another that is exactly the same. I'll probably have to repot it soon, though.

Steve, I'm always impressed by your grafted trees. They look amazing.

I'll probably drop in and share a photo of my bigger trees soon, (next time I move them so I can get a good picture of the whole tree). Both have gotten large and I'm hoping for a good bloom this year.

My meyer lemon tree i had since 2016. It’s been a learning curve with this one. last year is the first year I didnt have lemons produce. i suspect its from not getting enough water. I usually water daily and rely on additional rain water during growing season but last year I lived in an apartment and it didnt get any rain water. Now its on the deck at my new house. problem is it bloomed like CRAZY! See remnants on the ground. But the leaves didnt really come in. Which is a first. Usually the leaves look great. Not sure what is going on. Maybe I need to prune some branches?

What so special about legs, my legs are medium color year around. just need my legs for making steps, most mostly forward.

I'm experiencing am optical illusion. What size pot is your Meyer in, Annie? The tree looks established making me think it's a large pot, but the size of the mix ingredients and the fact you have a water tray make me think the pot is very small.

Hi Travis, I wish the whole thing was an optical illusion. It used to be in a 10" pot but once it lost all its leaves I downsized to a 5" pot. I'm not sure if it was the right thing to do but I was worried about it staying too wet in such a big pot. Very nice Meyer you have there and best of all, lemons!!

I am a psychologist by day and all my training is still not enough to coerce desired behavior out of my potted citrus ;)

Downsizing is a great idea Annie. I've struggled to appropriately water my citrus. I think I'm in a rhythm and then one bad episode every 6 months or so will cost me half my leaves. I've often wondered if my containers are too big for my trees.

I don't know why. Many nurseries and box stores lose out because they sell a very hard to grow trees as easy. The Meyer lemon is one of the hardest citrus trees to grow. The fruit doesn't even taste worth growing. They're are some people that are very attuned to what plants need and do well with Meyer lemons. Most of us don't do well at all with them.

Bonsai_citrus, I got my possum purple passion vine from Brugmansia-Quebec three years ago. It’s the second year that I have fruit from it. Last year, I didn’t know how to pollinate it so I didn’t get a lot of fruits.

Amy, Makes me wish I lived in Canada so I could get one! Congrats on fruit, it's beautiful! Is it self pollinating? I'm curious if they're tough to grow, too.

Also, I said I'd drop in with photos of my big trees next time I moved them to sweep. Just did this morning and snapped some photos while they were out.

Here's the fukushu, has recovered well from the incident with the couch at new years, when someone slid the couch into the fruit-laden branch and snapped it off.

And the Nagami, this guy has had his ups and downs, but I think it's finally healthy.

I also almost lost this grapefruit tree! Can’t wait for new growth. Had to cut all the dead growth back from a killing freeze which got most of my orchids. It survived thank god. Just waiting for the flush. Buried among hosts,roses with a planted annual.

Oh my gosh mike!!!! how do you keep such beautiful pond and koi fish? You know my pond is a very old one made of concrete bottom and not a liner and woildnt you know it theres a crack in the concrete due to bamboo roots!!! the previous owners planted bamboo right in ground right behind the pond!!! im not sure what they were thinking they sprout everyhwere now even 20ft away!!! im sure our neighbours hate us lol but we just gave up after sinking tons of money to fix it every year we just let it be one day when it all settles i woild love to redo the whole thing! tell me your secrets mike! do you soend a lot of time cleaning the pond? or you have afilter? And all those citrus mike your backyard is a paradise i would lose time just staring at the fish and the little frog so peaceful! :) thank you for sharing mike! made me forget my problems for once :) hugs

Jan , thanks )) Funny how many things we have in common. Lol. It's amazing actually. I used vinyl on mines so roots can not break through . Ther is also an imperviable liner you can use to prevent that. That has been together for almost 10 years and never a problem. I never have to clean it too. Just a net to catch debris once in a while and a good filter, that is it...I love it MY fish know me well and come to the surface when I speak to them and hover at the top until I had feed them. My frog jumps on too a lily pad once I go back there and sings to me. Eats out of my hand. It's a riot. It talks to me. The neighbors, I hear you..lol I planted trumpet vine years back and it comes up every where and I noticed 5 houses done there too..lol

It is very peaceful hearing the sounds of water back there and the sounds of birds. Smells so good since 90 percent of what I planted is fragrant.

As lon as you keep the bottom of the pond pebble free or gravel free, so easy to keep clean. I have just a few bigger stones in there so that sweeping a net at the bottom is so easy.

Many hugs to you too. Glad you like my citrus tree. I LOVE the color yellows on it. I love that bright yellow branch. You know when your trees are happy when brighter colors have no brown spots on them))
