Never select colors from a computer screen. Alway select colors from large samples in the light where the colors are planned; and realize those colors may vary because of dye lots or other factors.

Personally, I would go darker and not try to "match" the cabinets. You need a contrast when using two woods. The darker board in your first photo would be my pick for the color of the floors.

I like the 1st more knotty one. I think its a great match. Once you add rugs and accessories etc it will be fabulous!

so is this for your basement or your kitchen? or both?

It’s a basement kitchenette (doesn’t have a stove) that runs along one wall and the rest of the space is open. Will be an open theatre area, separate workout room.

Which flooring did you go with? Do you have a picture of it?

Never select colors from store lighting either. If you cannot get samples, take elements outdoors and view in natural light. Cannot tell you how much fun this with newbie salespeople.
