The garage for this home is attached but located in the rear of the home. The driveway runs along the left side and then turns right into a three car side load garage. This orientation could work on a corner lot, which would allow the front door to face one street and the garge to face the other.

I would need a front facing garage. What would you recommend for the exterior structure on the second floor on top of a garage placed on the right of the porch? A dormer similar to the left side?

Yes, the dormer would be a nice feature over a garage to the right of the porch. Depending on the size of the garage you might consider multiple smaller dormers centered over single garage doors, or a dormer similar to the one shown centered over a double door.
