Started the canopy walk!

last modified: 5 years ago

I have this elevated covered walkway that connects our main house to a detached garage with a loft apartment that family and guests use. I’m getting started on the garden below that is visible as you go back and forth. The Atlanta Botanical Garden has what they call a canopy walk. It is way up in the trees with fun viewing points along the way. Mine is much shorter, but i thought it would be fun to do my own little canopy walk. I will have to take it in stages as budget allows. This first portion is only about 4 feet below the walkway but it gets higher as you go.

This was todays focus. Putting in all the hostas i got for my birthday.

So I cleared it out last week and the mulch arrived yesterday.

Here is the view from the driveway, it’s kind of a secret garden from the ground. There is a little path beside the hydrangea. I planted Lakeside Paisley Print in the line of sight.

As you go in past the tree I have Color Festival behind the tree and the St Johns Wart.

If you turn left you will see Afterglow, WuLaLa and Bottom Line.

The view from the walkway. Looking back to the driveway.

And another angle.

Tomorrow I will post a video of walking along the walk to show the drop off and the view to the river.

*update, link to the video showing the walk.
