Congrats. And how brave and wise of you to just do it. You should be very proud as it's a great kitchen to show off. No one will ever think with this beauty "what was she thinking" like the 2nd one would have. Shame on that person that led you down that circus path.

@Melissa R we looked at her prior work. Had faith, trust and confidence that what she was showing us would look great. We hired a designer because we have made this mistake before in picking things that are nice on their own, but do not fit or go together. And i asked the very question directly to her: do these colors go together and does it fit the rest of house?

And I would agree with another poster that if Designers were licensed then she should have have hers revoked.

What is that flooring? It is so unique, I love it!

@kayozzy it is just a red oak hardwood that was scraped to match the floor in front of the big island and the rest of the house. Stained dark walnut, it is pretty good match
