You probably know that FW gets very crispy edges. MIne is in dappled shade but even still I get browned out edges every summer. I also have Linda Sue, a sport of FW which was named after Van Wade's daughter which also gets fried even though it gets only morning sun. I think that both of those hostas should be grown under shade cloth to look good. The HL pictures of Linda Sue do not show any crisping.

Yes, I know that. And had one before, and got rid of it for that reason. But bought it again last year, and in August it was still doing ok.

Not too bad if that's FW, if mine get just a bit of direct sun, they sizzle and burn on the edges. But FW isn't as bad as a FW sport, Linda Sue which can't handle sun in my yard at all. I've posted pictures today of them and you can see what sun does to them.

We'll see how she does this year. She's in the back where there's mostly shade all day long, however, she's on the other side of the fence of my neighbours lilac, plus under maple trees, so she is going to have deal with roots invading her space.

I found a Great Expectations at a local nursery today. I know it's a risky buy, but I'd like to give it a shot.

Note the roots growing out of the bottom. I assume it needs a bigger pot, but how much bigger? These are the options I have on hand:

I also bought some Carex, Creeping Jenny, and a plant that is new to me, Muehlenbeckia axillaris 'Nana' (Creeping Wire Vine), on the recommendation of a worker at the nursery as tolerating both shade and some foot traffic.

I also purchased a Brilliance Autumn Fern. I've planted it already, near our bird feeder, hoping it will hold up to the birds and squirrels better than a hosta might.

Nice finds! The GE could do well in the pot you have selected, though I see the temptation to put Fire and Ice in the pot where GE is and vice versa. Good placement of the fern.
