If it's a succulent, it's probably sedum. Possibly native, but how likely, I don't know. If it's not a succulent, you need a better pic.

I suspect one of the weedy speedwells, most likely Veronica arvensis. It would help to see a living plant in situ.

Yes. It’s a Veronica. If not V arvensis perhaps V peregrina. What you have there is stem of seed heads.

So that's what all the tiny blue flowered weeds are, Veronica. I imagine I have several species if they are naturalized on this coast. A Field Guide to Weeds would be very useful in my garden.

Yes, one of the Veronicas. They germinate late winter into late spring,set billions of seed and will really take over a bed.
