IMO the only other choice would be stainless think about what happens behind a range the splashing of what ever . I guess IMO a real stone would have eliminated this issue and I keep saying why go plastic when you can go real stone. BTW you have alot going on in the space so I would not go some real accent behind the range for sure BTW that hood is not sleek or modern .

If your kitchen will be similar to the one below style wise (based on your description), appropriate heat resistant clear glass just above stove, or if feasible, right across that section might work well. Paint walls the same shade as quartz for a smoother transition.

You could also add tiles for a less sleek look.

I think many people have reported that a glass panel behind a stovetop is prone to cracking. Go stainless or a simple tile. You might have more freedom if your top is induction rather than gas.

Brass - or other metals - can look good.
