9x12 laid horizontally

One at end of each bed, keeping middle open

Placed in between beds, vertically or horizontally

I would put one large rug under both beds.

Yes you're correct Patricia. There wouldn't be a whole lot of the rug showing.. just about 35 in in between the beds and a some at the end of the bed. So that's why it's hard to decide.
