Exceptionally pretty flowers in a spray - Easy on the Eyes

This one is also cane hardy for me. This is only it's second year but I am in love with the pretty blooms.

I think this one would have done well in some category.

Exceptionally pretty flowers - Fourth of July. Fourth of July was doing so poorly last year that I let some presumed Dr. Huey from the rose we dug up grow behind it. I was so pleased that Fourth of July had grown so well. Turns out there is more presumed Dr. Huey than I though in the growth. This is the largest number of Fourth of July blooms we have had so I still like the rose.

The blooms are exceptionally pretty.

Fourth of July was cane hardy this last winter so that is promising as the Denver Rose Society lists it as iffy in Denver. Not sure if we will continue to let presumed Dr. Huey grow with her or keep trying to take him out.

Classically pretty flowers - Iceberg.

Not many on Iceberg yet but they are coming.

The minis - Denver's Dream

Miniature - Dick Koster. The first flowers in spring of this are always washed out. But the bloom shape is fantastic.

Dick Koster has been a disappointingly slow grower.

But with only one bloom on the rose it probably wouldn't have made it until tomorrow.

Pretty, delicate blooms - Dainty Bess

Don't photograph well because they over saturate the camera but so loaded with blooms that I could have found several at the right stage of development to take to the show.

Thanks all! The roses give me great pleasure. Amiga Mia has been a pleasant surprise. High Country Roses lists it as occasional repeat. Helpmefind says it repeats in flushes. I've found it to be a continuous bloomer for me as it seems to always have some blooms.

In terms of fragrance it has really out done itself this year. High Country Roses says delightful fragrance which I agree with. Very classic rose smell. Helpmefind says strong fragrance. Putting the two together you get a delightful strong fragrance.

My delight with it caused me to seek out another Buck Rose, Calico Gal. It has gorgeous blooms but I need to give it more time to see how it does with winter hardiness and frequency of blooms.

If I were walking someone through my yard who was interested in roses in Colorado I would steer them to Winnipeg Parks, Amiga Mia, Pretty Lady Rose and Easy on the Eyes. Iceberg and The Fairy would probably also make the list but they sort of sit in the background compared to the listed 4.
