I like roller blinds with drapery. On the corner window, mount the panels only on the outside edge.

I love the suggestions above. I would love suggestions for my situation too. My east facing bay window has a transom that is open. I actually love that the light wakes me up and do not like blackout curtains because I like a little light at night and to be awakened in the morning. The current drapes are below the transom and because the windows are straight at the top and not arched, it looks weird to me. However, functionally I like it. Any thoughts?

Love white 3 inch plantaton shutters, they are timeless and help with the insulating. They are easier to clean as well in my opinion than dusty drapes.

Expensive yes but they add value to your home when you go to sell.

We just survived the Pacific Northwest heat dome and I was very surprised and relieved to find that even old bedsheets are pretty effective in reducing heat transfer into the house. That said, I have read that honeycomb shades are the most efficient at keeping heat out in the summer and keeping your house warm in the winter. If that's a big concern for you, those might be a better choice than the roller shades.

I recently put blackout roller shades on my beach house which has an entire wall of windows on the east side. I used a white fabric with matching small valances. I am so very pleased with the aesthetic and the function of these.

I had sun blocking film installed on my windows. Made the rooms so much cooler. With the heat situation handled you can be more creative with fashionable window coverings and they will last allot longer.

We have put some nice roller shades, that look like linen, from Lowe’s, in our windows with brilliant sun. We chose light filtering for the rollers, then added light blocking/lined floor length draperies to dress up the window, and give privacy at night. It works fantastic, to soften the stronger sun, but not leave rooms too dark, during a bright time of day.

On a second note, though, with all the corners and bends you have going on, the plantation shutters may be your best option, for a clean finished look, and light control.
