How much sun is it getting? How often do you water it? Is it planted too deep?

bottom line.. its not pumping enough water during the heat of the day to maintain proper color ...

and the blue is wearing off showing the green under.. which is slightly sunburnt ...

I have grown Reptillian for years. In my experience it is not sun tolerant. It does best in full shade or dappled shade. Mine was also a slower grower, maybe due to burning every June because it had too much sun. Mine was also never as blue as other blue hosta's I have and it did green up quite a bit by mid summer even after I moved it to shade. Reptillian has a beautiful mounded habit and nice waviness to it's leaves. It is not a large hosta as the name implies. In fact, for me, I would say small/medium.

All helpful info - into a pot and under my sycamore it goes. Everything I have in pots under that tree seem to do really well. Someday I’ll have my landscaping worked out and will have better garden beds.

Stupid water stains. My hostas each have their own drip-lines but they’re hit by some overspray from the sprinklers.
