I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. If you're selling the house, leave the windows as they are. If you cover them up with anything, people will think you are trying to hide something. Put the clutter in self storage, donate it, or throw it out. People buy space. If you are moving into the space, live here for a few months and then decide what to do.

Sheers are nice but seriously, spend your first dollar on hiring a great cleaner who hates dirt and will make the porch shine, and give the porch a lick of paint if you think after the deep clean it needs that boost. If the reason the porch doesn’t look clean is clutter, get rid of the clutter and cover damaged furniture with fabric or paint if you need to keep it there and can’t find inexpensive replacements.

After that you might enjoy leaving the windows unblocked so the house feels spacious and open to the world.
