• I think you got it right! I have googled to see a few different ones and have come to find two possibilities: Geranium macrorrhizum ‘Album’ and Geranium macrorrhizum 'Ingwersen's Variety. But I see that there are so many varieties out there. So these two may look like the one I have, it may also be another variety. I am happy to know though that it is a perennial geranium. Thanks! My "new" friend said it was a good growing perennial that wasn't fussy about location.

Ingwersens is very definitely pink, not white, with reddish bracts, so it’s not that one. There are several white cultivars.

Could well be, macrorrhizum being one of the parents.

I can see why this geranium could be Geranium x cantabrigiense also. I guess it needs to get larger to see how tall it grows and I will have to work by a process of elimination. By the way floral, the blooms are light pink, not white. I went out to see if I could get a better picture of the blooms, but there are none at present.
