The biggest issue with floor-to-ceiling windows is that any window within 18" of the floor must be tempered glass which adds to the cost. Why not just install sliding doors?

Here are windows that are a bit more than 18" above the finished floor. Still provides a great view outdoors.

What type of look are you looking for? What type of construction, new house or reno? What brand and type of windows are you looking at?

IMO we need a lot more info and I agree if floor to ceiling whay not make that a nana wall or something similar. You need to provide a lot mor einfo and your architect is who will design what you ask for withing logical limitations you can't always get what you want .

Even doors have sill plates. Listen to your architect.
