leave it alone fro 2 years. .and then start training it into whatever shape you want ... no sooner ...

it needs to grow the root mass.. before you worry about anything else ...

sideways pic hurts my neck.. lol .. but can you find the root flare ... i wonder if its planted too deep ... if its too deep.. i would d3mand they pull it out.. and while they are doing that.. they may as well put in the one you want ... if not.. they need to reset it ....

was this professionally installed ... and if so.. why didnt the seller get you the type of plant you wanted ...

I try to not prune it up that high until the trunks get larger. It looks good to me but a very strong wind could bend those stems since they are so slim. Give it some time.

Yes, it was professionally installed by my landscaper. I had one installed earlier, and at the last minute, I asked for another. This is what they brought back from the nursery. I just wish it was “green” a little lower. The leaves seem very high….

No it will not regrow lower growth. All of the growth comes from the top.

You will likely get root suckers from the bottom; that's common with crapes. Pull them off when they appear unless you want additional trunks.
