Basement Wall Concrete form

Hi,
As ou contractor has a 9 ft form I was questioning regarding our basement wall that was set to be 8'6". My concern it was going to be low after taking into consideration. 2" insulation, 3" concrete, ~3/4" flooring. Steel beam W8×18, ducts etc. When I start questioning, I have been advised that the 9ft form they finish the wall as 8'10. My question: why we need to lose 2" on a 9ft wall form and am I getting overly concerned if the wall is poured with 8'6"? I read a few posts the people saying the basement ceiling too low.
We will be using the basement as living space.

Even using 10' forms, I've encountered height restrictions in basements from ductwork and structural beams.

On one house, after pouring with 9' forms, I added two rows of blocks to the foundation to give the basement an acceptable height. (Had to lower the roof slope to fit the zoning envelope!)

If you had an architect involved in the house's design, that would be the person to ask. They would know what living spaces are proposed for the basement, how those spaces are planned to be used, type of heating/cooling system, structural member sizes and locations, and other information needed to accurately answer your concerns.
