What kind of house are you building? Square footage? Construction cost?

Jeldwin is a sub par, budget oriented window.

Around 3700 square feet. We don't have set amount on the budget, but obviously want a good price and decent window.

"but obviously want a good price and decent window."

My suggestion would be to keep looking then as you will definitely only get the good price option with Jeldwen.

You might as well get some quotes for Marvin Elevate fiberglass to cover the higher quality but more expensive option. Buy once.

If I could give Jeld Wen a zero star rating I would. New home construction in 2017 and I had 20 Jeld Wen premium vinyl casement windows installed. I was told that these windows were high quality premium top of the line windows that Jeld Wen makes. It’s been 3 1/2 years and 16 out of 20 windows are suppose to be swapped out for manufacture defect. All 16 windows had bugs, dirt and debris stuck in-between the glass panels. The Jeld Wen tech that did the inspection could not figure out how all the “crap” was getting in there and recommended 16 windows to be swapped out for new ones. At first, the customer care representatives denied manufacture defect - they keep claiming it was a “Maintenance issue”. It wasn’t until I demanded the service tech’s report that they relented and agreed to cover the windows under warranty and swap them out. Waited two months for two techs to come to my house and they managed to only get 9 windows done. It’s been 3 weeks and I can’t get a Jeld Wen rep to tell me when they’ll have the techs back to my house to finish the other 1/2 of the job. But it gets worse. They managed to swap out two windows that do not match the “original” windows they removed. Two other windows they didn’t properly adjust and they do not open or close right. Worst company that I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They make crap product and it’s follow up with crap customer service. I spent a lot of money and got nothing but bent over by this company. Stay away and do not buy from them!

Jeld-Wen is terrible. DO NOT BUY JELD-WEN windows. I would agree with above and give zero star rating as well. We are in an eight year old home and have all Jeld-Wen windows that either can’t open or difficult to open and won’t close. This was a new build when we purchased the home and we have had issues that progressively got worse over time. At 8 years, we now have to replace at least ten windows. Windows should be lasting well over 20 years! When we contacted Jeld-Wen they sent a tech to inspect the windows. After the inspection, I could not get a hold of our warranty rep for five weeks. At that point he escalated the matter to his supervisor who I also had to chase down only to tell me our warranty was done at year five so they didn’t have to assist us. They also told us that it wasn’t a product issue and that it was the builders who installed them incorrectly leaving insufficient space between the window and the brick around the window for expansion. The outside of the window is buckling and is now blocking the windows from being able to open. Every single window is sagging. We’ve had multiple window companies come take a look and they have all confirmed that their windows are junk and that there is a manufacturer defect but Jeld-Wen refuses to do anything about them. Avoid Jeld-Wen at all costs! Horrible customer service and unreliable products.

We had the Jeld-Wen Siteline series windows installed in our home in the CO mountains 3 years ago (no longer have the home due to a wildfire) - we LOVED these windows and did not have a single issue with them. This series was wood clad and had no grids - so our (then) beautiful views could be the focus. So sorry others have had bad experiences, but ours was great!

Sorry about the loss of the home. That is terrible. I am not sure that 3 years really pushes most windows out to the age were issues in a product might start to creep up.
