Check Fire, Fuel And Compression!

1. With the choke on could that lead to fouling the Plug. Ck fire at Plug's Gap.

2. Since it was running partly choked, Ck Spark arrest in Muffler System.

OP:After a couple of attempts to start my trimmer and a lot of thinking about it, I decided to replace the spark plug, That got it running but it would not rev up. In that episode I realized one of the fuel lines was cracked and replaced it.

I decided to see if someone would repair it, no one would include the authorized cub cadet service store.

I decided to make one more attempt. For two days i periodically sprayed carburetor clean into the throat of the carburetor. Tried this morning it would start but died immediately. Decide to clean the carburetor, that got it backfiring through the carburetor.

I decided to replace it.

After doing some yard work I was about to carry the trimmer out to the shed, until I could dispose of it, but decided to try one more time to see if I could get it started. Start it did and ran great. Spent the next half hour trimming he back "40".

Here hoping the it is fixed and the next time it will start and run.

1. Treat the current fuel with some gas conditioner eg. Sea foam , Startron etc. The ethanol fuel you are using is what caused the fuel line deterioration , will also gum up your carb circuits preventing starting next time !

The trimmer is a 4 cycle engine and 8 years old, I suspect that the lines died from age.

I have a trimmer 20 yrs old original fuel lines & diaphragm , reason did not allow ethanol based fuel deteriorate the lines , conditioner is a must , however if you enjoy replacing fuel lines and spraying carb cleaner for two days. go for it !
