Wednesday's offerings

Bob took the day off and we got some things done. I pollinated about 90 flowers today (the most to date) and we got the seedling bed tilled. At this time last year we had all the seedling planted. I keep asking myself why we are so behind and then I remember. Bob was working remotedly last spring (and truth be told, didn't have much to do) so we spent more time in the garden in the spring.

Today I took a lot of named varieties.

Barefeet Retreat is not really to my taste. I has a pleated throat which I don't love. This one was a gift from the Northern Mecca tours a few years ago.

Artillery Fire is probably the largest flower in the garden. Unfortunately, sometimes the petals stick at the tips.

I love the rich color on Blackbird's Song.

Brazilian Flamingo is another large flower.

I am not usually a lover of lavender, but I really like Flight of Orchids.

Fruitful Discovery

We took a chance on Red Lobster because it was cheap. So far, this southern bred one is doing fine.

This was one of the royal court today. This is Wolverine X Fruitful Discovery.

This is our daughter's seedling. It is Dental Delight X Happy Teeth.

That's enough for me.

Those lovely seedlings are my favorites today! I love that velvety texture on Blackbird‘s Song. i have a couple with that texture, its hard to photograph at times.

Your seedlings are my favorite too. I like the color a tad better on the 1st seedling, but that white edge really adds to the color of your daughter's

Flight of Orchids is a pretty lavender that I could live with. Brazilian Flamingo's color sure jumps out at you......As for seedlings I like Wolverine x Fruiful the best The form is better to my eyes...............Maryl

I like all the registered ones today, but Brazilian Flamingo beats out the others by a hair to become my favorite. Who is the hybridizer on that one? I like the colors and the shape. Both purple seedlings with big, sharp teeth are fabulous! I wish more like that would show up in my seedling bed.

Debra, Brazilian Flamingo's hybridizer is Mark Carpenter. Its color is described as tropical orange, but it was cool the night before the picture was taken, so maybe the color is a bit off. The flower was quite large.

Blackbirds Song is lovely. Brazilian Flamingo is a pretty one. I really like Wolverine X Fruitful Discovery. Your daughter's seedling is lovely too. And I also really like Flight of Orchids. It really bloomed a lot in my garden this year.
