Can I do a mid season repot on growing figs? Please help.

I was wondering because I have a few in pots that are drying out way too fast and they have fruitlets on them. They were small enough for 2 gallon pots but have grown so fast that the roots have filled the pot and I am afraid one day I might not catch the day they dry out too fast before I Get home.

Of course they are grown in full sun but that is the down side when the pot is now too small and drying out way to fast.

suggestions would be of huge help.

What would you do?

Will a transplant shock my fig trees to abort the fruit or even kill it?

I know many here do a major re pot before they waken from dormancy.

Thank you))
