Wonder where the squirrel got them (most street-trees in the area are Sycamores/London planetrees).

And never suspected squirrels also cached samaras.

Will probably leave them be. And suppose I'll need not be concerned about overwintering. . .

edit: PS Now having fun trying to ID by online images of leaves. Thinking Sugar, Red, or Norway for the maple. But might need more adult-looking leaves for the oak.

Samaras can blow in from a half-block away!

First one seems like sugar maple, but have to wait until more mature leaves form (a year or two). If so, over a long time. this is what you can get.
