I would not tear it out if there are no leaks. I would epoxy it or install mosaic tile directly over it and use it as the base for the shower.

Either freshen it up or tile over it.

I happen to like your blue square tile ( depending on the style your after ) I would regrout it to have a fresh look and then do a matching penny tile or continue the floor tile you already have

If you wind up tiling over it, you can use cove base tile to keep that rounded curve.

Are those surface cracks or all the way through? The terrazzo can be cleaned and repolished by a pro, but the cracks need to be investigated on site.

your "hideous" is my treasure, LOL. terrazzo is super in style right now, and I love the color of yours next to the blue tile. personally, I'd look into restoring it. it's a little dingy, but maybe it's possible to make it look almost new again.

I don't get it. People post junk installations here constantly. Now we have a perfectly fine wonderful base on the verge of death.

I absolutely love terrazzo. My vote is to try to refinish. Have you been to Miami? From old art deco hotels to new mod. It is everywhere. Cool, classic, timeless.
