I might consider painting it black as well. Its a very pretty piece and love that you are repurposing it.

You didn’t ask, but I would move the plant on the dining room side of the armoire. It seems to block access to the chair if one were coming from the armoire side.

I would move the red rug to the dining area, if possible. It is nice to have some red in dining areas, which is why that color is often used in restaurants and eateries. And the rug on that side would work well with your armoire, as it is.

I would also suggest simplifying your rug for living room area. The current red rug is sort of competing with your art. I think your art would stand out more and make more of a statement, if the rug were simplified.

And if I may add: If by chance you have children, and/or children visiting, please consider getting rid of the glass and sharp edges for a coffee table.

ETA: Regardless of whatever you may decide as far as rugs, etc. - I do agree that the armoire works just fine, as it is now. :)

Leave as is, it coordinates with your living room chair and wood you have.

I would leave the armoire “as is”. It’s in great shape and looks good with your other room items and light walls❣️You have a lovely open concept space too!
