Backsplash, or lack of.

It does not appear that there is a tile or other type of backsplash in this kitchen. Are the walls simply painted, or is there something covering the walls? If it is paint, what type is best for this application? Thanks!

You're correct, Alyssa: there is no backsplash, except for the heat-rolled steel at the range wall. The sink is an undermount w/ Caesarstone countertop & has a picture window right above it, so there is no painted wall immediately adjacent to the sink. The painted walls in the kitchen are latex paint, probably in a satin finish.

ploshy23, the table top was crafted by Versatile Wood Products: http://www.versatilewoodproducts.com/index.html . It is apple ply with a laminate top on metal hairpin legs.
