I am doing a two-toned kitchen - mushroom shaker on the lowers and salt on the uppers. We get the uppers next week, but the lowers they said we won't get until August :(. Will take photos and post when everything's installed!

No one is exempt from supply chain issues. They tried to sell this as get yours cabinets in a week or two that quickly turned into two months if that. Very limited choices. No better than ikea but for more money. The other selling feature ”comes assembled” still requires an installer and have to remove doors and drawer to assemble anyway. 5/8” particle board box (I mean really. How much are you saving by not using standard 3/4”). No hanging rail system means harder to install and “comes assembled“ means higher shipping cost even if it‘s not stated as such its figured into the price.

@jdesign_gw yes, i am super disappointed to say the least. I'm trying to get them to ship me just the lower boxes so at least we can get our countertop templating done, but i think since they want to ship everything together they may not allow it, which is so frustrating since we just need the boxes for the templating. Certainly the bathroom vanity they quoted me (over $2,000 for the cabinetry on a 72" length vanity) was about 3x as much as IKEA. In the end I went with a Home Depot vanity that had a stone countertop included since it was 40% off and ended up being cheaper than both IKEA and Boxi.

We initially had a wonderful experience ordering these cabinets, were were made aware of the extended wait, which was no problem. The nightmare began with delivery.

6 of 21 packages damaged. They shipped the fully built cabinets with Plastic shelf brackets holding the shelves in place within the cabinets, so as you can imagine many snapped or came unfastened, and many of the shelves ended up lodged in strange positions within the cabinets.

The delivery service that Boxi contracted with dropped fully built cabinets off the back of the moving truck, breaking or denting several cabinets.

Several of the panels to cap the ends of the cabinets were damaged as well.

The policy is I had 3 days to inspect these cabinets for damage, so I had to unpack each one and inspect them. I reported the damage immediately. I was told it was going to be sent to their claims department, which dead ended for weeks. Leaving my kitchen installation dead in the water.

Finally a month after the the delivery, their rep contacted me again, and refunded me for one cabinet, and told me the parts I needed would be sent.

I received a notice that my “order” for replacement parts was filed, and then over a week later I get a shipping notification. I inquired what was being sent and I was told it was the cross panel for my corner blind base cabinet, and the plastic brackets. I asked a clarifying question about my oven side panel, and was told that was included.

Today I received the cross piece to my base cabinet and they sent me the wrong size, a bag full of plastic brackets, and no side panel.

Covid and supply chain issues are not the issue here, once you pay them, and the order is delivered, good luck. It’s barely an afterthought making it right.

They are about marketing, not about providing a quality product. Building a cabinet box with 5/8” sides instead of the standard 3/4” to save a few dollars on a many thousands of dollar order tells you all you need to know about all the rest.

@angel- install complete? I’d love to see pics and your overall opinion now that it’s (hopefully) done.

Thanks for this feedback. i just came across Boxi and admit I am intrigued (and there is a showroom in my metro area). I am trying to do a fast kitchen cabinet change and maybe this is not the best option. Does anyone have photos of the product installed in your real home?

Underbuilt and overpriced. A poorly made joke only keep alive via deceptive and expensive marketing to people who know almost nothing about cabinets, and who know no cabinet makers. They sprnd money on marketing that ought to go into production quality.

better off going with ikea and custom doors then?

I did IKEA with Scherrs custom doors (similar to semihandmade but solid real wood and painted sherwin williams colors (not MDF/thermofoil), more door styles to choose from, etc. I am super happy with it. My carpenter/installer was a little grumbly about the "quality" of the IKEA boxes but honestly I think he was just being a snob, they look and feel amazing. I LOVE the soft-close hardware. Scherr's was not cheap for our large kitchen and the style and finish I chose. But we saved so much on IKEA that I think in the end it was definitely a savings.

IKEA is only a true value if you buy Ikea doors. The boxes of any cabinet are the cheap part. When you start spending money on aftermarket doors, and labor, then you’ve outsmarted yourself and could have had a v8. There are much better options, with thousands more configurations, that come already assembled. Start with local custom.

Sorry to disagree with Mr. Verbo who is often right about many things but as someone who makes after market doors for ikea cabinets I have never found a much better option for that combination espically from local custom of which I also am. The same doors that I would use on a custom project when combined with ikea would be half of what a full custom job would be. There are installation cost but all cabinets have to be installed. As far as so many more options depends on how creative you are.

Our, almost complete, new kitchen with BOXI cabinets. The upper steel and glass cabinet is the ikea rudsta with the legs cut off and flipped upside down. So far so good, only looking to find the best drawer and cabinet organizing systems for this product. Thoughts?

Boxi-Boxy are very low quality. They tend yo fall apart just after the warranty peiod is over. The foils delaminate and peel faster than any other known brand. As in measured in months, like a toddler.
